Hither Kusum is an author, poet, and blogger known for writing stories and poems that address social issues, including discrimination, prejudices, and real-life experiences. Based in India, she often explores themes related to nature, simple living, and societal challenges. She grew up in Jharkhand, India, where she was influenced by tribal life and the natural environment. She focuses on creating thought-provoking literature that highlights societal realities. Currently, she stays in Delhi, the capital of India, with her partner, Sukesan Kanka, a painter and sculptor. Kusum completed her higher education in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Kusum strives hard not to deviate from the path of presenting discrimination, prejudice, and real-life experiences, which often take a back seat. She strongly believes that a writer owes a responsibility to society and its people; hence, s/he must use words to highlight thought-provoking realities that demand immediate attention. Stories, particularly those based on real-life experiences, can help a society engage critically with the culture, religion, and other social institutions of the present and enable its readers to become catalysts of change. Words, when aesthetically arranged and put forward to the readers, can sew a beautiful world till now unimagined by our minds. She earnestly desires to experience that beautiful space, untouched by market, money, and other consumerism.
